Commissioned...Say Whaaat?

This year’s new competition program of KLIK!, called the Commisioned Animation Competition, is likely to bring up some questions. What the hell means ‘Commissioned’? ‘Commissioned’ is the professional term used for films that are made in the form of an assignment. The program shows advertorials, ads, reels, leaders and other commissioned animated work, which are actually worth watching! KLIK! feels commissioned work is not being appreciated enough, so they made a unique selection for you of some of the most inspiring, funny and beautiful commissioned animated films. The idea is not to judge them as we do in our daily life, but to look at them as a piece of artistic creation. So come and check it out!

It’s Playtime, No Need To Grow Up!

It’s playtime at KLIK! on Sunday the 19th of September. Little daredevils and sweet princesses are most welcome in Kriterion to watch the best children’s animation. You’ll experience whole new worlds, full of cheerful bedroom teddy bears and talk active farm animals. There are three Kids programs:
-Kids Program 1: without dialogue, so language cannot stand in the way. Fun for kids from all over the world!
-Kids Program 2: With Live dubbing by
Dutch animator and comic artist Remco Polman.
-Nickelodeon Kids Program: a selection of the best episodes out of the Nickelodeon archive.
And of course there’s the feature film The Secret of NIMH.

Besides these great film programs, KLIK! organized several cool activities in the foyer in which everyone can participate (young and old), e.g. the Coton Candy Sculpture Contest!!
So bring the KIDS, or the kid inside of you, be creative and shoot your fantasy at KLIK! on Sunday from 1PM till 4PM.

KLIKKERS TRAVEL THE WORLD

Check out this page and follow our Klikkers all over the world!

You Be The Judge!

Yes, Indeed. This year it is your vote that can make a big change to a filmmaker’s life! Next to the official jury prices like the Best International Short Film, Best International Student Film, the Design Award and the Political Award, KLIK! has now brought to life the Amsterdam Animation Award.

After each screening of the International Short Animation Competition the audience can give their vote to their favourite film. The leading film and the two runners up will be awarded. The winning film will receive the Amsterdam Animation Award, the second and third most favoured films will receive Honourable Mentions .

Of course, being applauded by the professionals is very important to film makers. It is nice to know that people who really know what they’re talking about, see the talent in you. But in the end, it is the audience that really counts, and sometimes the audience sees things in a complete different way than a professional jury.

So come and give your vote, and let your favourite film maker know that his hard work is being appreciated!!
